I played a lot of games and did a lot of software development on this desktop.  I did one month of mining too.  This lived in the rack in the basement of my West Fargo twinhome.  I drilled holes in the floor/ceiling in order to run 3x massive dual-link DVI cables up to the living room, where I had my desk.  The dual-link was necessary to feed the Dell U3011 monitor which I had in a PLP setup between two Dell 2007fwp? monitors.

I built this server for some personal things like blog hosting, Minecraft server, etc. and also to host Dirt Tech's website and services.  At some point I got rid of my slightly older desktop and used this as my desktop.

From an email discussing this build in the context of my recommendations for someone else's build:

I ordered this to serve as an ESXi host at home.  I had a consulting gig coming up where they had some VMware infrastructure so I needed to have some familiarity with it.  That was a success and I kept the PC around as a VM host for many years.

Work freebie for Proxmox node 3.  Will bump up the RAM someday

Another work freebie.  I will increase the RAM eventually.  This is Proxmox node 2.

This was free from work.  I upgraded the RAM and SSD situation and so began my Proxmox cluster.

Probably bought to test Android apps.

Quite likely that it was the 16GB model based on price paid.

I probably bought this for testing for Android app development.  And I sold it for $120 on Craigslist.

Bought mainly for testing for Android app development.

Bought primarily for testing Android app development.

I had this through at least April 2016 based on some sign-in alert emails I found.  ("New sign-in from Asus Nexus 7 (2012)")
