Bought from the dealership in Mandan--I think it was some sort of consignment thing.

Soon after buying I ordered crash bars and a set of luggage mounts and cases.  Cool big huge aluminum boxes.  I installed all of this on the back patio at Jean's Place in Medora.  I also added heated grips.  It came with cruise control which was a pretty awesome feature to have.

I sent my friend Simon a link to a motorcycle on Craigslist that I really liked, and he said, "No way, that's exactly the sort of bike I'm looking for.  If you don't buy it I will."  So I bought it!  My friend and coworker Steve came out with me in my car to a country house SW of Fargo and I drove it back.

Simon found his own (same model, different color) to buy so we had matching rides.  I remember tearing it up around Star Lake and on the big sweepers of the road north of Dent.

I bought this motorcycle via Craigslist in the spring of 2011.  As my first motorcycle it was a poor choice to learn on but I loved it.  Simon and Parker came with me to look at it, Parker to test drive it and Simon for his people skills.  I remember the ridiculously loud exhaust that we could hear as Parker accelerated down a street while out of sight.  For $1500 followed Parker back to my apartment garage where he parked it and I waited for warmer weather to try it out.

I bought this as my second motorcycle, looking for something a little more casual than the CBR 1000F.  It was a bit neglected by the previous owner after he had been rear-ended on it, and then I had some trouble as described in this forum post:

Purchased from Grandpa Tom. 6 cylinder, two gas tanks, little flip down  seats in the back of the cab, Rhinoliner, plastic bug flare on the front of the hood I think.  I had a cassette adapter but one day that stopped working and I believe was stuck in there.

The 4WD system started to have issues after some intermittent ice near Mapleton shock loaded the system (seemingly).  So it often would not engage, and would make terrible grinding noises.
